The town I was born in was once called the "Machine Tool Capitol Of The World". This means that Rockford, Illinois made the majority of the tools that made all of the other tools in the world. It was also called "The Forest City" until the Dutch Elm Disease hit. The featured software is my "Machine Tool" that makes the Mule Dog Magazine: TextPad text editor. To construct a site you need to construct the HTML documents and the fastest and best way to do this is with TextPad.
In the illustration above you can see the rich variety of features this application has. Primary among which is the ability to keep multiple documents open at once thereby being able to copy and paste between them. There are two additional windows on the left. One for all the documents that are loaded and below that a clip library window that will insert ANSI Characters, Control Characters, Dos Characters, HTML Characters and HTML Tags into the document. The five come with the program but you can download many more for free at the site. The list of available clip libraries:

There is a spell checker with downloadable dictionary and among the buttons on the top is a globe that when pushed will open up the current document as a web page in your default browser. TextPad has more features than I know about or know what to do with since I only use it for web design but if you do anything with text you will want this program. Here's the info from their site:
