Somewhere Under the Rainbow
Joe Stampley has really come up with something in his CD "Somewhere Under the Rainbow". It's definitely Country and will appeal to Traditionalists and modernists alike but what he brings to this CD are additional influences that make this a really special and unique sound. There is a strong Mowtown/Soul feel to everything he does when it comes to ballads. The production is some of the best I've heard and the songs sound a little bit like what Michael Bolton does on his hit material. When Joe rocks on his faster songs he cuts loose with a rough controlled tone that is reminiscent of Bob Seeger. Joe is indeed a fantastic vocalist as he still manages to make everything he does fit within the framework of Traditional and Modern Country. Give him credit for nerve too. He covers the classic Teddy Pendergrass song "If You Don't Know Me By Now"! With great songwriting, production and fantastic vocals this CD is one of the best to come out this year. Stop by his site to see what I'm talking about.
