DARLIN' AND ROSE

If you like great two part harmony in a Traditional style with some really tasty steel guitar this is the CD for you! They sing so well together! On "Honky Tonk Eyes" and "Memories" there are some very nice choruses that sound almost like the Everly Brothers only with an Everly Brother and sister. They have been consistently topping the Worldwide charts with some of the best Traditional Country we've heard. There is some great steel guitar on the CD that makes the songs stand out. The steel guitar is played By Californian Doug Meyer and is a real highlight of the CD due to the fantastic sound he gets with the traditional as well as some experimental styles. "She Started Drinkin'" is the hit on the CD and has been getting a lot of airplay all around the world. It is a tear jerkin' drinkin' song and who can get enough of them? We'd like to see them capitalize on their strongest point and sing together even more than they do now. Good examples of how that can be incredibly effective: The Beatles, The Everly Brothers and The Rembrandts. A real surprise came on the last track "My Tears Have Gone To Pain". This is a Jazz/Blues/Torch Song with nice harmonica, brush drum set and string bass. It has a real 40's feel and is a sleeper hit. I think it may be my personal favorite rounding out the album nicely. Their story goes like this:

"Darlin’ met Rose in 1979 about the time they were in their twenties. Of course, she was silly, shy and he could always make her blush. Nervous was a normal feeling for her around him. Of course, he thought it was funny. They both were involved at the time in a relationship that was just not meant to be. As it is in most stories, times and things change. It seemed they both had something they just had to do. It wasn’t till 1999 that they were reunited. Both being into music for the past 20 years, it was natural when Darlin’ began courting her that he played his favorite songs for her, and she played hers for him. Neither one of them ever imagined they had a story to tell, hence the beginning of Darlin’ and Rose. Well it didn’t take long for them to figure out that people liked their music. And, after two years of collaboration, they’re proud to present to you their first collection of songs. Darlin’ loves country music and so does Rose, although it took a time for Darlin’ to convince Rose to let her roots begin to shine. They both love to play and sing for people and always have a song working on their mind, at least the first verse anyway. They hope you enjoy their new CD with eleven original songs, and are always happy to hear from their fans."
